Sunday Post #10

Happy Sunday fellow bloggers and readers. I am back with another Sunday post hosted by the lovely caffeinated book reviewer

Okay let's start with my week in a complete recap. Things once again are going smoothly at work and as my last post stated for some reason this seems to be a really productive month in terms of reading, blogging, and making Youtube content. I'm just hoping I can keep it up until the end of year ! : )

Monster (3 Stars) was a book that I read for my SLIS 757 class which a focus on young adult materials. I picked it because I was really interested in figuring out the story behind this 16-year old boy who ends up in jail. Unfortunately this one didn't sit to well with me and I ended up not enjoying it. Chicken in the Kitchen (5 stars) was definitely a fun, interesting picture book. I loved the illustrations and the introduction to Nigerian culture. The only thing I did not like is that it didn't include a pronunciation guide. Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Vol. 1 (3 Stars) was an okay installment to the series. I wish there wasn't as much side dialogue from the main character. It was more distracting than helpful. I did enjoy the incorporation of all the Marvel characters.

Ms. Marvel Vol. 6 (5 Stars) was AMAZING. Kamala definitely goes through so many changes and developments. To be inhuman this volume definitely makes her more human as she has to decide whether she should support her friends or the agenda of the Avengers. It interesting to watch her make mistakes and learn lessons from them. I thought this had a well developed amount of tension and resolution and I can't wait to dive into the next volume. I Hate Fairyland Vol. 3 (4 Stars) is another hilarious addition to the series. It was hilarious and as usual I enjoyed all of Gert's rants and shenanigans. If you haven't read this series yet, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Twisted Palace (4 Stars) was a crazy and interesting conclusion to Ella and Reed's story. I know that this isn't the best series in the world; however, I really enjoyed it as a guilty pleasure. If you're interested in romance than this would be the series to check out. The Woods Vol. 5 (4 Stars) is a science-fiction based comic book that follows the journey of a group of high school kids as their entire school gets transported to a different planet. This series was confusing at first, but with each volume I've grown to understand and love the plot and characters.

Before The Devil Breaks You. I was so excited when I found out that this book was coming out this year. I usually read Libba Bray's books, but this series is so good on audiobook. Book Scavenger. I've been trying to make my way through the South Carolina Book Award nominees and it's been a slow process, but I've really been enjoying it. Maybe next year my goal will be to make it through at least half of the list.

Trump Is Fucking Crazy (This is not a joke) is a hilarious book that I've really enjoyed reading. Sometime Olberman does have a habit of going on rants, but for the most part the book is enjoyable and informative. Turtles All The Way Down. I'm not that far into the book; however, I'm interesting in seeing how it compares to his other works.

How did your Sunday go? Let me know in the comments.
