Can't Wait Wednesday #2, Alex & Eliza: A Love Story by Melissa De La Cruz

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Tressa over at WishfulEndings. She has taken on a similar meme to Jills Waiting on Wednesday over at Breaking the Spine. Since Jill hasn't posted in a while I'm going to join in on this meme. To participate all you have to do is spotlight upcoming publications you're eagerly anticipating. Keep reading to see what I have chosen for this week.

Expected Publication: April 11, 2017

Okay so if you didn't know I"m a huge fan of Hamilton! I love love love the story and the music so I definitely was excited when I found out that there was some form of a book adaptation taking place. I'm a little concerned though because at the end of the day this book could either go really well or really bad and I'm not a huge fan of Melissa De La Cruz's writing so I'm taking a huge risk; nevertheless, I'm still excited to read it!

1777. Albany, New York.

As battle cries of the American Revolution echo in the distance, servants flutter about preparing for one of New York society’s biggest events: the Schuylers’ grand ball. Descended from two of the oldest and most distinguished bloodlines in New York, the Schuylers are proud to be one of their fledgling country’s founding families, and even prouder still of their three daughters—Angelica, with her razor-sharp wit; Peggy, with her dazzling looks; and Eliza, whose beauty and charm rival that of both her sisters, though she’d rather be aiding the colonists’ cause than dressing up for some silly ball.

Still, she can barely contain her excitement when she hears of the arrival of one Alexander Hamilton, a mysterious, rakish young colonel and General George Washington’s right-hand man. Though Alex has arrived as the bearer of bad news for the Schuylers, he can’t believe his luck—as an orphan, and a bastard one at that—to be in such esteemed company. And when Alex and Eliza meet that fateful night, so begins an epic love story that would forever change the course of American history.

  1. I've seen a lot of excitement for this book! I'm one of the few bloggers (it seems) that isn't actually a fan of Hamilton. It's not that I'm not a fan... I just don't know much about it. :D I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!

    Have a fabulous week. =)
