Friday #56, #56 The Sun Is Also A Star
The Friday #56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice. Join in every Friday and share an excerpt from a book you've been reading. Here are the rules:
- Grab a book
- Turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader
- Find any sentence (or a few, don't spoil it)
**Be sure to post the links to your Friday #56 below!
Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.
Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.
The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?
I'm doing a re-read of this book for work. I loved it and gave it 5 stars the first time I read it. I'm guessing that I'll do the same again this time. It's such a great book and you can't really tell that the characters fall in love over the course of a day.
"I shook her hand. I'm wearing a suit and tie and I shook her hand. What am I? A banker? Who meets a cute girl and shakes her hand?"
