Top 10 Tuesday: New to Me Authors
Happy Tuesday everyone!! It's time for the first Top 10 Tuesday of the Year hosted by the ladies over at the Broke and the Bookish. Here are the top 10 new authors I discovered in 2017.
Cynthia Hand/The Afterlife of Holly Chase. This was my first experience reading Holly Chase and it was really good. I'm not sure if the rest of her work is like this, but I'm definitely willing to give it a chance. Kiera Cass/The Selection. I didn't think I would like this series, but for some reason I thought it was pretty good and I can see why it appeals to a large group of people. Debbie Macomber/Mr. Miracle. Debbit Macomber is a favorite amongst our customers at the library. While I was hesitant in reading her work, this book in particular was decent.
Leigh Bardugo/Shadow and Bone. Amazing! I can't believe I waited this long to read anything by her. Nicola Yoon/The Sun Is Also A Star. I didn't like her first book Everything, Everything; however, this book was freaking great! She definitely is a writer to look forward to. James Dashner/The Maze Runner. Whatttt??? Why didn't anyone tell me that this book was this AMAZING?!? I'll definitely be reading more of James Dashner this year.
Erin Watt/Paper Princess. I'm trash for this series. I don't care what anyone says. Jason Reynolds/All American Boys. Why oh why did it take me so long to find this amazing man? If you haven't read anything by him read him now! Jessica Lawson/Nooks & Crannies. Jessica Lawson was a diamond in the rough this year. I found this gem of a book and now I can't wait to read more by her.
Ashley Poston/Geekerella. If you're a fan of re-tellings make sure you read this book. Ashley writes in such a fun and creative way.
