Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 Releases From 2016
Hey Guys! It's Tuesday so you know that means another post for Top 10 Tuesday hosted by the ladies over at the Broke and the Bookish. This weeks theme was to pick out top 10 2016 releases that we didn't get to last year, but want to read this year. I have quite a few, but some way I was able to narrow it down to 10. Keep reading so you know what I'm looking forward to reading! Be sure to click on each picture to read a Goodreads description.
1. Here Comes the Sun. I was so excited to read this book last year especially since it took place in Jamaica. Unfortunately, by the time it came to me at the library I already had so many other things to read so I had to return to the next person in line. 2. The Mothers. Let's just say that this book is a must read for me and I'm currently on hold for it at the library. The Underground Railroad. This book got a lot of buzz when it become a part of Oprah's Book Club; however, I'm more interested in it because it is historical fiction.
4. Dark Matter. This book has gotten a lot of buzz and I definitely wanted to check it out, but I never got the chance. It seems to be a mix of sci-fi and thriller both genres I don't read a lot from, but I'm definitely interested in checking it out. 5. Blackhearts. This is a YA novel I had my eyes set on for a while last year, but I never got the opportunity to check it out. I love stories about pirates and this one focuses on Blackbeard. I'm just super excited to read it! 6. And I Darken. A book based on Vlad the Impaler. Do I even need to say more?
7. The Hidden Oracle. I don't need any explanation for this except that it's Rick Riordan. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I have a long list of reasons as to why I've been avoiding this book. I'm just trying to convince myself that it's ok to read it. The Rose and the Dagger. I absolutely loved her first novel so I just need to go ahead and finish up this amazing duology.
10. Ghosts. I definitely need to pick this one up soon. I looked one her other children's graphic novels smile and loved it. I think this has potential to be rather amazing.
I wasn't the biggest fan of And I Darken. If you get to it, I hope you like!

I hope I like it too. People seem to really like it or just dislike it haha.
DeleteBlackhearts is one I really wanted to read too! But alas, I didn't. Perhaps 2017 will be the year. I've also heard really good things about Renee's books so that a duo I hope to read as well. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely check them out because they are amazing books!
DeleteI can't believe I missed out Blackhearts on my list! I am hoping to read it this month!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT
Let me know what you think of it! : )
DeleteI've got The Mothers and The Underground Railroad on my list as well. Have you read any of Colson Whitehead's other novels?
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't! This is the first of his that I plan on reading.
DeleteEveryone seemed to love Dark Matter. It's one I really want to pick up as well. And I Darken came out of nowhere. I read another book by the same author years ago and never imagined that she would write something like this. It was really, really good.
