Top 10 Books of 2016

Hey everyone! So I guess you can say I'm particularly late with this post; however, better late than never right?!? Right! So let's go ahead and talk about my 10 books of 2016. I read a lot of books in 2016, about 275 to be exact (it could have been more but I stopped counting) and in doing so I read some amazing books, but there were definitely some that stood out among the authors! Keep reading to see what books I chose as my top 10 selections of 2016. By the way these are in no particular order. All of these books received either a 4, 4.5, or 5 star rating. If there is a review of the book I will be sure to include it.

1. Between The World And Me. This was the most spectacular book I read in 2016. It was though provoking and definitely made me question a lot about the world around me and how I perceive the world around. 2. Food Wars (Review). The world's greatest manga! I can't believe it took me until 2016 to find this manga. I mean it's completely perfect in every single way and I'm so happy that I discovered it. I started it and caught up to the point where I wait for each new installment. 3. Kiss the Sky (Review).  Okay so I read new adult for the first time in 2015 and I didn't enjoy it. However, I was recommended this series by another booktuber and I must say I'm so thankful I gave it a try because it definitely is an amazing series. The first series is the Addicted series which then ties into another series called the Calloway Sisters series. They are both truly amazing.

4. Nana (Review). Okay the first time I discovered this series was actually through the anime. I was bored one night and the show just started playing on my hulu account and I loved it. Shortly after I discovered the manga and it's been a love affair ever since. 5. Monster. Holy crap 2016 just seemed to be the year of manga. I think I discovered Monster through a YouTube video and I was just really intrigued by the premise so I decided to check it out from the library. Let me tell you guys, if you haven't read this manga yet you need to check it out now! 6. The Nightingale. I don't even have the words to describe this one so I'll just tell you it almost left me in tears.

7. Mistborn (Review). This book. Oh my goodness. This was definitely a top 3 favorite of the year. I loved this book and all the adventure and twists and turns it took. It was beautiful world building, amazing characters, fast-paced plot, and a crazy magic system. This book was everything I could have asked for and more. 8. Homegoing. This is such a beautiful family saga with so much to offer. I definitely am looking at re-reading it this year. 9. The Coldest Winter Ever. This was my first time reading urban fiction and yesssss it was perfect. I loved everything about this book and it definitely sparked my interest in checking out other urban fiction novels. If you're looking for a starting place in urban fiction I would definitely start here.

10. Girl of Fire & Thorn Series (Review). This series is amazing! If you're a fan of character building and just all around amazing stories then you definitely need to check this out.

  3. So glad to see one of the Addicted series books on your list! It's such an amazing series and even though it's come to an end I know I'll be rereading it again and again. And The Nightingale... wow. That was my favorite book of 2015. So powerful, so emotional. It really packed a punch.
