Happy Reading!

So this week I decided to choose a quote from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn. It is the first book in the first Mistborn trilogy. The book is extremely interesting with a fast paced plot line and a heist type of atmosphere. The magic system is even more intricate as individuals are given the power of allomancy. This means that they can burn different metals and obtain certain powers (i.e. pewter gives super strength). I'm around 282 pages in which is about 42%. Hopefully I'll get through most of the book this weekend.

"The second man was tall with a strong build. As he turned Kelsier was able to see that a thick metal spike had been pounded tip-first through each of the man's eyes."

I don't know about you guys, but when I first read that quote it completely and totally creeped me out. I won't say any more about these characters; however, it should be noted that they play an important role in the plot of the story.

Once, a hero rose to save the world. He failed.

For a thousand years since, the world has been a wasteland of ash and mist ruled by the immortal emperor known as the Lord Ruler. Every revolt has failed miserably.

Yet somehow, hope survives. Hope that dares to dream of ending the empire and defeating the Lord Ruler. A new kind of uprising is being planned—one that depends on the cunning of a brilliant criminal mastermind and the determination of an unlikely heroine: a teenage street urchin named Vin.
Once, a hero rose to save the world and failed. This time, can a young heroine succeed?
